Where have I been some of you ask and some probably didn't even notice I haven't posted in a month of something. Well sorry for the hiatus, but a lot has changed but its all for the better and a lot of growth has come from it. You never know what life will throw your way. You find out a lot about yourself when your lost or confused and I think you grow the most in these times. I'm happy to finally come out on top of all the confusion. Its been a journey but I'm thankful for the experience. Well I'm trying to get adjusted to this new city and get things in order. I think this is just a good look for HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) found out a lot of people don't know what this stands for. But I had fun even thought I wasnt able to get into the actual game. And there was a lowkey tailgate but nothing compared to actual homecoming. This is the growth that is needed in HBCUs. I kinda started to believe in ivy league HBCUs, we shall see how long that lasts.

Hello KINGdom I know I havent posted in a while but ive been trying to get myself together and make the brand stronger. While ive been gone ive been on the interwebs studying as I like to call it. Ive been following Marcus Troy (google him), and he has been holding these iMeet sessions which are very imformative and tonights guest was Marquis Phifer, I must say he kept 100 in the session. Its half way into the New Year and I haven’t posted that much, but who is keeping count. Well I have been working either way trying to better the brand as a whole. This year I have written down goals and made a plan for how I want to release garments this year. I used to just keep everything in my head and just write down concepts for designs but I think this is a new year and I want to grow as a brand. So the only way to do that is to hold myself accountable by writing my goals on paper. I have set high standards for myself just because I believe in artistic integrity but we all get our inspirations from somewhere so hopefully you will see my influences beyond the brand name.

Well it’s been a while since I posted something about the brand or events that I have been apart but since I’m done with school I will have a lot more time to post. Here are some things I did in November

During Social Media Atlanta Week Digitini Celebrated the diversity of women in social media. Jennifer Hutcheson @mami2mommy and Lauren Thomas @Hellolt hosted the event and honored very influential women in the social media space. It was a fun event and was glad to be there.

I also had the opportunity to help coordinate some social media campaigns for Zone 4 Inc and Foundation Focus for their 4th annual Thanksgiving Carnival. This was a lot of fun. Regardless of the rain families came out for a concert and were given turkeys and other sides for Thanksgiving.

The Ustream and Twitter page for this event was going crazy during the show, Thanks for everyone that supported and watched. A lot of the world was watching the show from Ireland to Nigeria to Brazil. (not so sure about Nigeria but there was a roll call of where everyone was from)

I joined the New Balance Online Community and I think we are focus group and it also helps with their branding ideas. They allowed members to see a rough cut of a video they did for the collab with J. Crew. When I saw this I wanted to post the video on my blog and couldve have done but I didnt know what kind of repercussions my actions would have so I didnt. I just found out that there was a finished product and I thought whats the point of being in the community if we cant be the first to spread new content. I know its all about influence but I feel like the experience of feeling like I have the inside scoup has be tainted.

What can’t be done from a mobile phone will soon be the question asked? I recently found out about Square, which allows you to accept card payments through your phone. I was really interested in this because it meant that I could sell shirts anywhere and accept card payments. I thought of all the times I walked down the strip on Thursday or went to market Friday and didn’t have any cash but wanted to buy something(for those who went to school know what I’m talking about)and couldn’t. This product helps a lot of young entrepreneurs like me also.

My device came in the mail yesterday and I downloaded the app so I’m just waiting to use it. You can still accept card payments without the device but I think it adds to the customer experience.

Fahamu Pecou came to Clark to speak about himself and show some of his work. It was interesting learning how he became famous. I think it ties along well in todays social networking society in the fact that you can tell your own story. You have the ability to been seen anywhere and everywhere. I can relate because now you can create a false buzz to gain recognition. I don't like the term fake it till you make it but we have to play the game some just have different rules.

Fahamu Pecou (b. 1975) is an American painter based in Atlanta, Georgia whose intention is to comment on contemporary and hip-hop culture while simultaneously subverting it to include his ideas on fine art.

In 2005, along with several of Atlanta's premier contemporary artists, Pecou created history at Atlanta's High Museum of Art with the exhibition Arts Beats + Lyrics. Since 2005 Fahamu has been featured in several solo and group exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad. I decided to do a design for the ladies.I didnt want to leave yall out as I put things in order. Its sometimes hard to do a design for the ladies because I dont understand all the hardships of being A. Queen but I think of what I want in A. Queen and how I think Queens carry themselves. I dont remember who said it but I it goes something like "a woman who followed the rules never changed the world" so this is what I tried to embody in my design. And who knows how much history was made because a man loved a woman or consulted a woman before a move was made. Well its a mans world and wouldnt be nothing with out a woman or a girl (shoutout James Brown)

I decided to take some shots at night just to see how they would come out. I think ill continue to take pictures when im out. I used to like the white shirt the best but I think the black shirt came out better. I dont really think blue is my color but it looks ok in the pictures. I Feel like I have to do things ive never done to get to new places that I want to be,taking some time for self reflection was important to me to better understand myself and what im doing and what I could be doing to better my brand. I think this is important in any field so hopefully ill be able to document more or this for the blog.

Well I havent posted actual work in while but im still working on the brand. I think in my quest for perfection I get lost in just holding on to my designs and ideas and not putting anything out. I have a lot of ideas hopefully ill be able to put them out. I still fell like I need/want a team but we shall see what happens I might just have to collab with a lot of people. but this is the land of whats in it for me so... Its a lil crazy cuz I got a call the other day about my event ive been planning, hopefully that comes through and it shall be BIGGER than I ever dream. And im workin on another event. Its been crazy trying to plan a trunk show called "Exposed" but its been fun nonetheless. Im really excited but, im tryin to stay calm and collected so that everything goes as planned. Im learning a lot as I go and taking a lot of notes. Relationships are very important in any industry and the way you build them can really change your altitude, bank acctount, or situation.

well Sept is the planned month of the event and there are only two more things to check off the list to where meetings is all that is left so that everyone involved knows how the event will flow.

Sidenote: Im no longer at House of Adrene, lets just say due to creative differences. Believe in your dreams, let people know how you truely feel and watch what you say...

I went to Macy's at Lenox Square Mall with my Everywhere team for another Macy's Culinary Council. The chef this time was Tyler Florence . So the team did some blogger outreach and gave ATL "foodies" some meet and greet time with Tyler.

It was great to see that Tyler understood the power of bloggers and social media. Some of the blogger asked what blogs does he check out and he said he likes to read yelp to understand what people think about his restaurant and their experience which I thought was pretty powerful because it creates a better brand for the future which is something a lot of businesses miss.

I went to the thrift store and finally found some stuff that I wanted to buy. I like the fact that you can always find some hidden gem whenever you go but, you just need patience. I was hopeing to find some earth tone colored jeans ( which seem to be impossible to find in atl) maybe im not looking in the right places. Well I found some other things that I liked enjoy.

Some might say im making moves, I just see it as im growing and sharpening my craft. Im doing some consulting work with House of Adrene (im creative director of mens wear, even though I gave myself this title I determine what goes and what doesnt get put in the store for men). Also working with a social media marketing firm. Got to meet Marcus Samuelsson (Top Chef Masters winner) he is a really cool guy and I got to go to straits and watch the game in the downstairs. Life is looking up hard work pays off its all about taking advantage of the space you are given when doors open.

So Adrene in Wonderland was last night and it time to see if all my work had paid off. This was my first reall big Fashion show that I had ever been a part off with real Celebs, PR people, and general mayhem outside. Peters street was literally shut down. The funny thing about being at the event was you can see who really makes things happen and who is all talk. I was running around like a wild animal uStreaming but it was all fun, a lot of people came out hosts were Mychael Knight and Rashan Ali DJ Sense really killed the music, sammie came through Terri Vaughn and more ( I dont like name dropping and i wasnt a groupie but I just wanted to let yall know) enjoy the the pics!

Im currently working with Adrene, helping her understand Socail Media. These are just some pics of behind the scene work ive been up to. So ive been in and out of the store getting to know everybady, learning and getting a feel for the store and everything that comes with it. Its been a nice lil rush of moving here and there tryin to make things happen on the fly. I like to think I was built for this kinda life. Its been only two weeks and so much has already happen. Adrene Boutique is getting ready for her Grand Opening on May 25th, come out cuz this is something you will have to see to believe. I stoped by @houseofadrene on Tuesday to check out a Mix and mingle networking Fashion Show event she had at her store. It was a nice event. Im not even gonna lie and make it seem like i was there for the whole event. I came late and missed the fashion show part but was there for the networking part which was a good look. There were some photgraphers, stylist, bloggers, and people who in enjoy fashion that showed up. I got to meet Adrene, she was mixing and mingling with everyone. Also met Miss Liberia USA 2009 Mattie James and a Miss Liberia 2010-2011 Finalist Nykita Garnett. So one of my friends was able to work out an intview for me sooo, well I dont want to say to much but ill be doing some work for her store. I came into the store Wed. and we talked and she has some big plans for her store and the atlanta scene, so be on the look out for that. Make sure to follow her on twitter. I almost forgot I had this. I dont know how, but I guess I was tryin to top myself with each design. I was surprised to see that I had a good amount of designs in the book. I like the rough draft look also because I dont want to limit myself with picking colors early in the process its usually the last thing I then I sometimes change the colors right when im making the order but im trying to get better at sticking with my first pick. We are all on a path to somewhere just hoping to get there some how with hard work and determine. Going through the rollercoaster feelings of am I do enought to make my dreams reality. Yes you have a plan but how often do thing go exaclty as planned. My life hasnt gone as I thought but am I am grateful for the experiences that I have been granted and believe they have only made me stronger. You know what is gonna happen on your path but you hope God has given you the strength to handle or you grow to handle it along the way. I think I have had an interesting story on my path to where I want to be I know for a fact I have stories to tell me kids.
